I kinda know stuff about politics

UPDATE ------

The article below was written before the Federal Election 2007. iVote Australia has been archived since the Election. The website is still viewable. See the latest article in the Whats News section.

Welcome to iVote, if you’re here it means your probably grew up in the 90’s with memories of actually calling your friends because SMS, MySpace and Facebook didn’t exist. Anyway, the time has finally come for what many young people consider their least exciting rite of passage. Voting. At the end of this year you will have to vote for the leadership of your country. That’s where we come in. iVote is an non-politically aligned organisation of generation y’ers like yourselves with little better in our lives to do than attempt to get people motivated and informed about the democratic process.

On this website you will find important info on how to vote (from enrolment to the operation of the rather large piece of paper in the ballot box), why to vote and info to find out which person or party suits you best. We don’t push any barrows, we only provide the facts and policies… its up to you to decide which is best.

Even if you don’t know it, politics is important to you. Think of all the people standing up for a cause they think is worthwhile such as the massive turnouts at Live Earth and interest in global movements like Make Poverty History. But politics becomes confusing when the message gets lost. iVote hopes to make it clear and easy to understand and access political information so you can make the best choice when it comes time to vote.
